Queen of Shadows, the fourth in a series of books about a spunky assassin, was released Sep. 1. Written by Sarah J. Maas, each of the books in the series has a very unique feel, and the Queen of Shadows is no exception.

The first book in the series had a dystopian feel, the second was a quest, and the third was a classic example of fantasy. The fourth, however, is a combination of all three.

The book seems to have a very broad appeal and an excellently developed storyline. The characters were better defined and more dynamic than in any of the previous books.

Queen of Shadows is a well-rounded and very enticing piece. It grabs onto its reader until he or she has read all 648 pages.

The ending is absolutely captivating and sets the series up for the next two books. The characters grew into more mature and interesting people as the story took some serious turns. It will definitely be interesting to see what the next two books have in store.
